This past winter after the swallow left, some other birds took over their nest. Here is one of them- reportedly a Golden Crowned Kinglet.

After the quads left the nest, mom and dad still had to feed them. Here is a shot of an in-flight feeding.

Here is a feeding in action.

The next year they had quadruplets. Here they are in the next at feeding time.

Another shot of the twins.

There has been a barn swallow's nest on our back porch for several years according to the previous owners. In the summer 0f 2003 these two babies ventured out of the next for the first time. They let me get pretty close to them.

Backyard fog.

No this is morning fog over Lane Spit.

When we were looking for a place on Lummi we orginally wanted to be on the west side because of the sunsets. We ended up on the east side looking at Mt Baker and I think now the Sunrises are much more spectacular than the Sunsets.
