Parent feeding chicks

On this day the mother brought a small rodent for dinner and decided to feed the chicks.

Testing wings

In the upper photo the dominant chick is testing his wings. He flapped several times and jumped up and down several times.

Feeding Time

The first photo above shows the dominant chick eating a bird wing. On this particular day the parent brought a bird to the nest and the chick fed themselves. The dominant chick ate most of it until the other was able to steal a bit. The chick swallowed the wing and foot whole.
